Summer figure Drawings 2012

I put in a lot of hours drawing the human figure this summer. See some of my favorites from the past few weeks after the jump

About three weeks ago I had a gesture breakthrough; I used to always hate my gestures, but I’m in love with them now. I now draw them much more loosely, and I find the results and the process much more enjoyable.  You can even see it here. The first image is half-way through the transition, while the second and third are after it.

All are done in charcoal on newsprint.

I tried to arrange them in order of how long I spent on each drawing, ranging from thirty second gestures to the last one which took an hour.
